Muay Thai, or Thai Boxing, is also referred to as the “Art of Eight Limbs”, first developed hundreds of years ago. Its exact origins are still debated by many studies and scholars, but many believe the modern day Southeast Asian countries of Thailand and Cambodia are close to its origin. Today, it is the national sport of Thailand, with growing popularity across the world, including Europe, broader parts of Asia, and North/South America. It is a professional and amateur sport, a martial art, aerobic fitness program and a useful form of self-defense.
The name Art of Eight Limbs comes from the eight points of the body used to strike: two fists, two elbows, two legs, and two knees. The body works together as one unit using these points of contact as weapons of war.

Class Descriptions
Our Level 1 classes focus on the fundamentals of the art, covering basic stance, footwork, striking and defense. This class benefits an individual with no experience, as well as serious practitioners. The basics are drilled and repeated in a fun, engaging way, enabling those who train to build a strong foundation in the art, carriny over into more advanced training, or even self-defense.
Level 2 is the next step to the Level 1. The focal point shifts to the application of the fundamentals by emphasizing advanced pad work, clinching, and sparring. Level 2 may be added on when you have a solid understanding of the basics.
All Levels classes are engaging and fun for everyone, from the novice to the advanced practitioner. The focus and material is variable, making the class challenging, so be ready to mix up the routine and add a unique experience to your Muay Thai training!
You versus the bag. This class is a cathartic release and is perfect whether you’re a beginner or highly skilled.
Heavy Bag classes are geared toward cardio and conditioning, while reinforcing the fundamentals that are learned in Level 1. What makes our class unique is that instead of compromising form for the purpose of a workout, we truly encompass both technique and conditioning in one class.
The competition team consists of Combat Arts Academy’s higher level practitioners, coaches, and active fighters. This class is dedicated to furthering the level of our most experienced students, as well as preparing fighters for competition. These training sessions are strictly invite only, and are our most intense training sessions, varying between conditioning, pad work, drilling, sparring, and clinching.
